Why refer clients?

It is good practice under the Law Society’s Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme (WIQS) to suggest that clients:

  • maintain a clear record of their assets, including digital assets
  • consider how those dealing with their estate will be able to access this information

You can support this by sharing a short information sheet with clients after registering their will, explaining the importance of maintaining their estate information as a next step.

How to refer clients?

Download the client information sheet and provide it to clients:

  • after will registration
  • alongside the Will Registration Certificate
  • as part of your standard completion process

Clients can then use the information sheet to access the Digital Vault and organise their estate information independently.
