For two decades, we’ve worked behind the scenes to solve a problem most never think about
Over that time, we’ve helped countless families find certainty during difficult moments, and supported legal professionals in protecting their clients wishes.
Our history
Founded in 2006 as Certainty, we were created to solve a simple but persistent problem: ensuring wills can be found quickly and confidently after death.
We also partnered with The Law Society to support greater certainty in will storage, registration and estate administration.
Referenced in professional practice notes, reinforcing the role of will registration in estate administration.
The National Will Register trademark was formally established as we became Certainty, The National Will Register
Officially became The National Will Register, reflecting national reach and recognition.
Acquired by OneAdvanced Legal, the UK’s number one legal platform, strengthening investment, scale and long-term stability.
In 2023 we hit the 10 million wills milestone in our system, signifying a will search would access approximately half of all UK wills in existence.
Free Will Registration Month gained national television coverage, including a mention by Martin Lewis, helping highlight the importance of registering a will.
